SMS Notification Terms

Last updated: April 27, 2026

Who is sending these messages

SMS notifications are sent by Local Marketplace Technologies Inc., doing business as Loma ("Loma", "we", "us"), the operator of the Loma marketplace platform. The text of every message we send begins with "[Loma]" so the sender is unambiguous. Messages may reference the name of the specific marketplace you are a member of (for example, your marketplace) as context for the activity being reported.

Message types you may receive

We send transactional SMS to verified sellers. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS. The messages you may receive are:

  • Verification codes — a 6-digit code to confirm ownership of your phone number when you first opt in.
Sample: "[Loma] Your your marketplace verification code is: 123456"
  • New leads — when a buyer expresses interest in one of your listings.
Sample: "[Loma] New lead on your marketplace for your listing "Vintage Camera". Tap to view: https://… Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help."
  • New messages — when a buyer sends you a message about a listing.
  • New offers — when a buyer makes an offer on a listing.
  • Accepted offers — when an offer you made is accepted.
  • Payments due — when a connect-fee payment is required to unlock a lead.
  • New orders — when a buyer completes an order on one of your listings.

How you opt in

We never send SMS without explicit opt-in. You opt in by:

  • Checking the SMS consent checkbox in the phone verification dialog and successfully verifying a one-time code, or
  • Toggling "Receive SMS Notifications" on in your account settings on a Loma-powered marketplace, where the same disclosure is shown next to the toggle.

In both cases we record the time of opt-in and the version of these terms you agreed to. SMS will not be sent until your phone number is verified, you have opted in, and the marketplace-level toggle is on.

How you opt out

You can stop receiving SMS at any time by:

  • Replying STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) to any message you receive from us. We will send a single confirmation that you have been unsubscribed and stop sending notifications across every Loma marketplace tied to your phone number.
  • Toggling "Receive SMS Notifications" off in your account settings.
  • Removing your phone number from your account, which immediately revokes your consent and verification.

Frequency, costs, and carriers

Message frequency varies based on activity on your account. We do not send messages on a schedule — each message is triggered by a specific event such as a new lead or a verification request.

Message and data rates may apply. Loma does not charge for SMS, but your wireless carrier may. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy and data sharing

Your phone number and SMS preferences are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Loma uses Twilio as its SMS delivery provider; phone numbers are shared with Twilio strictly for the purpose of delivering the messages described above. We do not sell your phone number, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing purposes.
